All enrolled students are invited to join Ballet Academy of Charleston’s Junior Company, which performs annually each Spring. A non-refundable fee is due at the time of casting to cover the costs of rehearsals, costumes and venue.
Membership in the Junior Company benefits a dancer in numerous ways. Taking part in a performance helps the dancer overcome shyness or stage fright, boosts self-confidence and teaches teamwork. Performing gives the dancer the opportunity to express themselves artistically and to demonstrate to family and friends the progress they’ve made during the year. Most importantly, being in a dance performance is joyful! Rehearsals are an opportunity for dancers to meet students from other classes in an environment that is less structured than the class environment. There is always a great group dynamic – our Junior Company members work hard as a team during rehearsals, and they have fun socializing with one another during breaks.
